I guess after working from home yesterday, it was enough to get me all out of my routine. I left the house this morning without my watch or my work blackberry. Anyway, this pimp got on the train at 125th. It was pretty awesome the way he threw elbows to get in front of everyone, so that he could get a seat. One of the people he shoved out of the way is the woman in the white jacket that you can see standing to the right of him in the picture. I guess he just wanted to display his seasoned pimp hand. Well, if that wasn’t enough fun action for one morning, when I walked through the door from the elevator lobby on my floor, I saw this mainenance guy half way up in the ceiling, right next to my office. I asked him what he was working on, and how long it would take. I was hoping for the 2 to 3 sentence answer. Instead, of course I got the 20 minute answer that included a brief history of the construction of the building, a fairly detailed description of the blueprints in the quadrant where my office is located, and a list of other tasks that building maintenance personel are scheduled to work on today. Perfect.
As you can see in the picture, this guy has some pretty good moves. I especially appreciate the dual ladder technique that he was pulling off so impressively.
Anyway, I hope that the rest of the day is less eventful. Reagan and I are meeting with Piper’s doctors again today. So Reagan took the car to work. There was a bit of an episode with that too. But I will leave that one up to her, if she feels like it is worthy of being published. Anyway, I am supposed to change Piper’s trache today. It will be my first time. I helped Reagan with it last time, but she did most of the work. I’m pretty nervous. Her doctor was kind enough to volunteer to stand there by my side, so that I could have the comfort of knowing if I messed something up, they could jump in and take over. Wish me luck.
