I have always had bad allergies in the spring and summer. I even took shots for them as a kid (the shots didn’t work at all). When I was in Brazil, they were super bad for about the first 6 months I lived there. We were outside most of the time and even when we were inside, it was kind of like being outside. Anyway, I think that I became acclimatized at some point because I didn’t have allergy symptoms for probably a solid 3 years after returning from Brazil. These days, however, I have them as strong as ever. The reason I am posting this is for fellow allergy sufferers who are considering purchasing Advil Allergy Sinus. I bought some because I was being stingy. It is about $20 cheaper than Claritin. Now I know why. Not only do I still have a snot faucet for a nose (thank goodness I also invested in some Puffs with lotion), but I’m also about to pass out on my keyboard. So my advice is, spend the extra $20 and get the Claritin.

A sort of interesting side note to all of this is that I had to sign a register at the pharmacy. Apparently they are keeping track of all of the stuff they sell with Psuedoephedrine. I guess that this is the way that the Mexican lobby can insure that all of the crystal meth comes from south of the border and is not made in local meth labs. Why is it so hard for the government to understand this whole “supply and demand” concept? Or is Senator Clinton right when she says that people like me are just victims of Capitalist brainwashing?

I have to second your endorsement of Claritin0 the stuff really works and doesn’t make you feel so crazy. I used to have seasonal allergies in Texas, but don’t really have any problems anymore. I noticed the pseudoephedrine tracking up here too- the method around here is to put little cards on the shelf that you have to take to the pharmacist at the store (I imagine that you have to sign something too) the thing that gets me is that i would imagine it takes quite a few boxes of this stuff to cook up a batch of meth- it seems a little silly to inconvenience a guy with allergies when they could just try to take notice when someone comes in and buys a whole case.
