When we arrive at Piper’s room on Saturday, she was having a party with some friends. One of Piper’s nurses had come in on her day off, and brought her mom (from out of town) to hang out with the kids that she takes care of. Isn’t that cool?! Piper was loving it. She had toys spread all over the floor and was having a blast. After her friends left to make some other visits, Piper continued on, in her playful mood, jumping all over the place and smiling like crazy.  That is, until she accidentally pulled one of the hoses loose from her vent. It started alarming, but we couldn’t figure out where the leak was until Piper was already blue, and we were having to bag her. Luckily we were able to get her back to a nice color of pink fairly quickly. But, the ordeal was enough to tucker Piper out. As soon as we got her vent running right again, and Piper attached to it, she put her hands over both eyes and promptly fell right to sleep.

Today I finally scanned in one of the polaroids that we took last week (below). No big deal. Just Piper being adorable in the monkey pajamas. Hahaha.

Reagan asked me to do some shots for her, like the ones that I did of myself for the hoodie weather post. Terry Richardson would be proud! Hahahahaha. If would have to say that Reagan is basically the cutest girl alive (and I’m not just talking about looks). We did a set w/o lipstick. Then one with.

Yesterday I shot the Phillip Lim runway show. Kanye was there, minding his manners.

At the Burton FNO party, they had a little quarterpipe set up on Spring St.

And probably my favorite character of the evening, the Brazilian DJ at Burton:

This was a hard week for me. Even though I missed two 6 mile runs. I really had to dig deep for the longer runs. I didn’t really do any tempo work today. So who knows how my pace is doing. I guess I will find out next weekend. We will be running the Philly Half-marathon on the 18th. I’m pretty excited. It has been a few months since I have actually run in a race.  We are going with some of our good friends. It should be a really good time.

Tonight, it is officially hoodie weather. Since I had some time on my hands, I took these photos to prove it.

I was up an out early this morning, shooting some more eyewear. It was a gorgeous morning, both in terms of weather and light conditions. When I first came out of the apartment door, I startled a little bird. Apparently it had taken a wrong turn and ended up inside of our apartment building. I snapped a quick shot of the little guy/girl, sitting on the stair landing that leads to the roof. I called back into the apartment for Reagan to come see. She loves him/her. When I came back from the shoot, I noticed that Reagan had put some bread on the stairs. That way, even though the bird was lost, it didn’t have to be hungry. Hehe

Sam A. was workin’ it well for the camera, as always. We got some pretty good stuff this morning, including the shot below.

Since the weather was so nice when we were out shooting (mid 60′s and breezy), I decided to ride my bike to work today. Boy was that an awesome decision (until I go out and find it stolen [hopefully not]). The breeze kept me nice and cool during the entire ride. I just wore some rolled up khakis with loafers and a light cotton button up. I seriously hope that this weather can stick around for a while.

Speaking of commuting above ground. The run yesterday didn’t go so well. I’m definitely a minimalist, when it comes to running. It is for a good reason, too. Anything flopping against my body or riding up/down while I’m trying to run, drives me absolutely insane. I would run naked, if it were legal. Anyway, the fanny pack was a total disaster. I kept messing with it for about the first 3 miles. After that I gave up and just let it sit cocked to the side on one hip, with the strap wedged right below my hip bone on the other side. It was so annoying that I stopped running after 11 miles, so that I could take the stupid thing off and just walk. But not before getting the shots below. Hahahaha. Enjoy.

Just when you thought that the Hudson River could not be anymore toxic, the red tide shows up and makes the water even more of a health hazard. Pardon the crappy b-berry cam photos (I’ll get to that later). I read some reports about red tide in Gothamist, yesterday. But, I didn’t realize how visible it would be. Again, these photos are pure crap, but can you sort of see the purplish areas in the water. It is even more obvious in real life. Anyway, it is the first time in my life that I have seen it, and I thought it was pretty cool.

One of the reasons that I’m only armed with the b-berry cam today, is because I packed light. The reason: I will be running home from work today. For whatever reason lately, I have been having a tough time getting motivated to put in the hours in the early morning. So I’m trying to come up with ways to keep myself interested in training. If I stick to the Hudson path the whole way, it is about 14 miles. I’m only slated to run 11 today. But, I figured that a few extra couldn’t hurt, especially since I skipped a 6 mile workout on Monday.

I have run home from work before. It isn’t the distance that makes it tough. It is the logistics. Last time I was wearing a backpack. I was so chaffed from it afterward that I’m not going to try that again. So, I’ll be going the fanny pack route this time, and just leave all of my work clothes locked in my office.  I’m excited to see how it goes.

Switching gears completely, I was hired by Burton to shoot the event above. I’m pretty freaking excited about it. Yeah, it is just an event, but Jake Burton is going to be there. That’s a big deal to me, since I have never met the godfather before. Afterward, we are going to hit the Bottega Veneta party, thanks to Reagan’s hookups. Not a bad way to kick off  fashion week. I’m still trying to schedule out the details for next week. But I should have some pretty good stuff to show for it, if everything goes as planned.

Happy Wednesday!

It is so nice to come home from my first day of work this week, and already have the week well under way. I’m hoping that the rest of this week blasts by with equal speed. I’m so looking forward to all of the FNO activities, this Friday. And why not toss in a couple of additional photos from the weekend? Above, some product shots for IPATH. Thanks again, Sam A.

Below: Reagan decided to be our pace woman on the Sunday morning jaunt through CT. She rode Mike’s track bike and carried our water. Look at those guns!

On a completely unrelated note: For dinner tonight, I made a cheese and bean quesadilla, with two burrito sized tortillas, then rolled it up and ate it like a burrito. Feel free to try it out. It was awesome.

Friday, I shot the opening of the new TH store in SoHo. It was a pretty cool setup. I really liked the image above.  Saturday morning, Reagan and I worked on shooting another tutorial for her hair blog. It was fun, because we had a couple of our friends over, giving us a hand with it. It felt a lot more like just hanging out with friends, than it did work, which is always nice.

Saturday afternoon, we visited Piper. We only brought the Polaroid in with us. We took several shots of us hanging out with Piper, then laid them on the top of her transparent crib roof, so that she could see them when she looks up. It seems like she really likes them. We let her hold the prints and look at them, first. But, she ends up trying to fold them in half when they are in her little hands too long. Hahahah.

After our Piper visit, we continued up to Norwalk CT to hang out with one of our good Friends. We grilled out and went to bed kind of early, since we had a 13 mi run scheduled in the morning. The run was Awesome! We went all through Norwalk and Darien, along the water. The weather was fantastic! Afterward, we had lunch at this little place on the water.

In the afternoon, we hung out with Piper again. She was a little grouchy at first, but quickly warmed up and was all smiles. This shot below was probably the cutest one of the day. Reagan has been trying to teach Piper about hugging. I don’t know if she really “gets it” yet.  Reagan has to position Piper’s arms, etc.. Even if Piper doesn’t fully grasp what is going on, it is pretty apparent that she is enjoying the process.

Here for a few additional shots of our visit with PJ.

Monday, true to Labor Day form, we took naps, watched a movie, hung out and made cookies. No complaints, here.

Last week’s effort was pretty weak. Although, even if I had run the two additional scheduled workouts, it would have only been an additional 8 miles. This week is a lot more grueling. I have already had a good start. So, I’m hoping for better than C-range for this week.
