Ok, so it isn’t officially Friday yet (unless you are reading this east of Greenland). But happy Friday, anyway. For me, it couldn’t come fast enough. This week’s giveaway is a tote. It was some swag from the Project NYC fashion trade show. Made by Ecobags, it is built from recycled cotton and it folds up small enough to fit in a handbag for spontaneous trips to the bodega. This is probably the most boring/utilitarian giveaway on JNB, so far. And to be perfectly honest, I have a hard time imagining someone being in short supply of tote bags. But, hey it is from Project, which is kinda cool. Maybe someone’s tote has recently sprung a hole and they need a new one. If you know someone in that situation, make sure to send them a link to this post. Anyway, if you are interested in scoring the Project tote in the photo above, please leave a comment about what you might use the tote for. I have a favorite tote that I use all of the time for carrying around reading material and blackberry #2 during the commute, in the summer when it is too hot and sticky to wear a backpack or shoulder slung briefcase. I could really go for some of that weather right now. Instead, there is snow in the forecast for tomorrow. I’m so ready for winter to be over.
I will choose a winner some time next week. Get some.

.:About Me, and my blog, and stuff:.
What would I carry… anything and everything to keep my hands free so I can attempt to wrangle my 18 month old who likes to climb. I would really like a tote to take to the farmer’s market that starts up next month here in Portland. Fresh basil, heritage tomatoes, zucchini, and green onions toted home to make a fresh penne, Parmesan, and veggie lunch! Oh how I desperately need fresh summer veggies…
Chances are it would be my daughters strawberry shortcake dolls in it. Anything I like she takes over! If I could it would be fresh food from the farmers market. A girl can dream can’t she?
I would take this to the library and fill it with great books.
I use a tote bag to carry everything from my notes, my phone, and my wallet to mickey mouse deck of cards, yahtzee jr, and crayons (sometimes partially melted ones). I work as an ABA therapist for little ones with Autism and my totes get a lot of loving wear and tear and my pretty green one is sadly on its last life. I could really use a new one!
by the by, so glad to hear your little Piper Jane will be staying close to you guys! She’s a lucky little girl to have parents who care so much!
ideally, i’d love to use it to hold spare clothes for me this sunday, when i run a marathon relay with three of my colleagues. a pal’s got to carry them for me, because the organisers forgot to offer storage at the changing stations, and this tote would make her look good while lugging my stuff around.
have a fab weekend!
I live in Santa Cruz, CA and we’re never short on tote bags! I’d use it to go down to the produce stand, fill with veggies, toss it into the basket on my bike and ride along the coast back home.
Also, I’m so happy to hear your adorable little girlie is staying put
I use most of my totes to carry my number one essential item: shoes. I am undergrad college student, and work in a lab some mornings on the med school campus before class. Needless to say, the required dresscode/footwear is pretty boring. I always switch into a trusty pair of white chuck taylors or maybe even my favorite leather boots after my shift ends and I am headed back to campus on the metro (train). Totes are my best friend for carrying my shoe wardrobe around with me and not being conspicuos about it. Thanks Jake!
I would use it to carry my gym clothes/shoes. I have been needing some sort of decent tote forever. My current gym bag is a Shoegasm shopping tote. Ridiculous, right? It’s sitting under my desk at work at this exact moment.
I would use it for a lot of things! I always have a bag, tote or large purse with me at all times. For some reason.
Anywho I’d use it for books, going to the gym, beach bag, grocery bag, use it for a regular purse, etc.
I think it’s cute and eco-friendly is a plus!
i think the tote is TOTALLY rad. i’d use it for carrying library books!
loves the bag!
i’d use it for everyday stuff. I seriously have so much i lug back & forth from my home to my office – computer, gym stuff, lunches, extra shoes, outfit change, extra bag in case I hit up whole foods on the way home. you get it.
thanks!
I would use this tote bag to carry around all my other tote bags. If I won, I’d start a blog and so my own giveaway
. (not that I wouldn’t be so appreciative of your tote gift.) (basically, I’m just saying HI, don’t pick me)
and yes, I speak AND write in english.
I love bags I use them to put my running stuff in so I can grab when I drive to meet friends for a run/race.
I would use it and add it to my grocery bags I have with me in the car at all times.. you’ll neverknow how many times i’ve had to grab one to put a kids lunch in who has forgotten theirs or when a back pack springs a leak and we have to do a quick clean up.. but this one is a “fancy” one so maybe i’ll have to find a better use of it… i’ll think about it…
I would use it as my regular bag, a gym bag or a church bag. Somewhere where it can be seen so that someone can complement me on my awesome bag and I can say, “Thanks, I won it! It’s a from a NYC Fashion Show.”
I would use this tote to save the world. Or carry my gym clothes in. Depends on the day…
I’m a bag lady; I hope I win. I’ll use it for toting things to work.
I would use it for shopping at Your DeKalb Farmer’s Market (remind me to take you there next time you visit), where I would fill it with bacon from humanely raised and slaughtered pigs.
I would mat it, frame it and hang it above the fireplace.
I would use the tote for carrying my stuff to work… stuff like lunch and wallet and bills that need paying on my breaks.
It’s ok Jake, free stuff is always cool! I dig it!
Let’s see…well, I usually go to a health food store that is pretty close to my house and they encourage us to bring bags of our own, so there’s that. BUT I think I would really used it to put all my ninja things in it. Did I tell you I was a ninja? shhh Do you think those throwing Chinese ninja stars would poke through the fabric? I hope not.
Plus, it would match my outfit!
i have, like, a bazillion kids- when don’t i need a cool tote?
I LOVE bags, and this one is very simple but I really like it. My husband will tell anyone that I don’t need any more bags, but I do! I would use this when I travel, it would be great to stuff into my purse and then when I go shopping or to the store I could put my purchases in it!
I would take it with me to the Farmer’s Market to hold my fruits and veggies!
I would use it to make my girls jealous. They love totes and always get the cool ones! When I returned from a trip to Boston last fall, I spotted a cool “I heart Boston” tote in the airport and ended up buying 5 for my girls and didn’t get one myself. Regret, regret, regret!
We love totes. We’re girls so there’s an endless supply of Things that we’re required to carry with us at all times and we have yet to evolve enough hands to carry it all.
you can never have too many totes!!! I would use it when i go to the gym, or to carry my lunch in. BTW happy to hear your daughter gets to stay close by, and I love your wife’s new hair color:)
This tote is AMAZING! I am a University student and I would use it to carry my books and notes to class. It would be great to make a fashion statement as I walk all over campus (while also being very practical!).
P.S. I am a huge fan of your blog, Reagan’s blob, Hairdresser on Fire and PIPER JANE!
I think Kelvis should win because that was dang funny!!
Remember that fight I told you about, the one where Jessie was pissed because he thought I was talking about using this kind of tote, instead of the other kind of tote as checked luggage? Just imagine this tote full of my stuff, duct taped closed, going around and around a baggage carousel…
Oops, I did not mean for it to still say (Maya’s mom) next to my name. I don’t really think that sort of clarification is needed here… I mean, I hope you know who I am. It is late…
I would use it to carry along for unexpected stops at the grocery store. This weekend I’m moving to a more walkable neighborhood, so I think it’ll come in handy. I seem to always forget my reuseable bags that don’t fold down small.
Also, I love your and Reagan’s blogs, and I was so happy to hear that things took a great turn with Piper!
Hello–I think I would carry my supplies around the house for the next 6-12 weeks since I busted my Achilles tendon two weeks ago, finally had it x-rayed, now am trying to use crutches. It is amazing how many things we carry around on a regular day without realizing. Learning to use crutches is harder than it looks, but getting from kitchen to “dining room office” while carrying anything is very tough. I think this tote could help!!
I would carry in this tote a little clutch purse, water bottle, and a small knitting project to go. Perfect when I have to wait to pick up on of the kids or watching their various sporting events. With this little tote, I have what I need to stay calm, cool, and collected as I watch or as I wait.
I would use this tote to carry my piano muic back and forth from the studio, and then to the nursing home where my mom is to play for mom and all the other long-term patients.

The tote reminds me of this song:

Just sayin’
I would hang this tote on our coat tree to hold a hat, scarf and pair of mittens for each member of the family. I’ve packed up all of the other snow gear but fear that we NYers might need to keep these other cold weather items around until July!!
I would use the tote for summer shopping at my local farmers’ market!
I would use it for my school books and my wedding invitations that I need to address!
i tell you, it will be part of my grocery bag collection. I have 3 now for groceries, but usually have to empty them out of other things (books, clothes, gym shoes, yarn and needles) in order to ready them for the store. Having an additional tote will help maximize my efficiency-ness.
