Last night I shot an event at the new Madewell store on lower 5th Ave. This was my second encounter with the Bumbys (Above). They are a performance duo that show up events and rate people based on their appearance. It is kind of a fun concept. Anyway, It is a total bummer that Reagan couldn’t come, because she loves the store, and she loves Alexa Chung (below), who happened to be at the party. Not much of a coincidence, actually, given that her second Madewell collection will be launching this fall. Reagan picked up a dress that Alexa designed, last fall.

“So, what did Jill Bumby have to say about your outfit?”, people might be wondering. Well, here it is:

Thanks, Jill. Lucky for me, I was wearing my green patent leather loafers. Who else is ecstatic about the fact that this week is almost over?

No photo hunt today. But see if you can spot me chatting with A. Chung in this Lucky Magazine article.

I haven’t really been shooting much, for the past couple of days. So, I thought I would post a leftover from Sunday (above). Reagan is headed out of town today, to attend her grandmother’s funeral. I only met her grandma a couple of times, but I really liked her. She was a really sweet lady. I wish that I could have gone along, but it was more than we could really arrange on such short notice. So, Piper and I will be holding down the fort for the next few days.

In other news, I have been busily working on redesigning my photog site for the last few days. The old version had some flash elements that I wanted to get rid of. Plus, I just felt like the whole look was a bit outmoded. I’m still working on polishing things up, image selection, etc. But, check it out and give me some feed back if you have a sec.

I like Wale for several reasons, but probably mostly because his name is pronounced “Wallay,” which is practically my dad’s name. And my dad is awesome. For real though, this is the time of year that I’m combing through my mp3s searching for tracks to motivate me while running. By the end of the season, I probably won’t even be wearing headphones. One, because I won’t need as much motivation anymore; Two, because I will likely have sweated another iPod to death. I know that this track is kind of old, but it is definitely not tired. Wale and Lady Gaga team up for “Chillin.” Yes, there is some swearin’. But this song gets me amped when playing in my ear-goggle turned up to 11. Press play.

What’s on your spring workout playlist?

I’m so glad that this week is coming to a close. A lot of going to bed late and getting up early catches up to you at some point. Hopefully I will be able to get in some Easter napping action over the weekend.

..And now, video time. Whenever Reagan and I talk about having more kids, she almost always brings up twins. It’s generally some statement like “man, I wish we could just have a set of twins, then we could be done.” I generally respond by questioning her sanity. We have some friends and family with twins, and I’m always amazed at how they are able to manage.

Today I saw this video and decided that I think I might want twins, too. Hehehe

Have a great weekend.

I shot the press preview for this year’s NYC Auto Show this morning. To be honest, I was a bit underwhelmed. They didn’t really have any mind blowing concepts, like I was hoping for. I feel like my photos were a bit underwhelming too. I guess that can happen when I’m not feeling inspired. But, I’m posting a couple of my favorite cars from the show. I have basically always been an Audi-man. So, my favorite was the R8 above. I even like it in matte white.

Next up is a throwback Jag. When I was in HS one of my friends’ mom drove this car. The thing is all hood. She got a ticket on I-15 for going too slow. Such irony.

I love the new Lotus Esprit. Again, even in boring old white.

This Saab concept was pretty cool. It was clearly inspired by the ship in the 80′s sci-fi movie “flight of the navigator.”

I really liked this M1 Coupe. It reminds me of the old 318i. My friend Mike D. had one. Good memories in that bad boy.

Finally, I had to throw in the disco ball smart car.

Pure Awesome. If you are as big of a Beastie Boys fan (nerd) as me, then you probably can’t wait to watch the 30 minute film “Fight for your Right Revisited,” tonight. According to the B-Boys website,

Tonight at midnight EST, tune in to MTV 2, mtvU, VH1 or VH1 Classic to watch the full 30 minute version of Beastie Boys’ “Fight For Your Right Revisited.” It airs again 3 hours later on Palladia, and uncensored on Comedy Central at 3 AM EST. If you wanna, check in to the premiere on GetGlue at http://bit.ly/fKmViB and you can unlock a Beastie Boys sticker thingy.”

pj_harvey

Yep, PJ Harvey. Remember her? The reason that I’m sharing her music today is because I’m actually going to go check out her show tonight with some friends. Should be good for some random throwback memories. The funny part is that I know I used to jam out to her “rid of me” album when I was in like 9th grade, but for the life of me, the only song that I can even remember by her is “Sheela na gig.” I’m sure tonight will be fun though. Reminisce over Sheela with me.

It is currently raining like there is no tomorrow. It has been pretty much all day. Yesterday, we were able to have a bonus visit with Piper in the morning (I normally don’t get to see her on Fridays). We drove back into the city and were able to get lunch before I went into work. First we snapped the shot above, of Reagan on Carmine Street. Apparently that stupid cupcake place isn’t the only “Magnolia” in the West Village.

Today when visited Piper, we mostly just lounged around in our comfy clothes and watched the rain through the window. Piper was in a very snuggly mood.

After our visit, we headed down to Chelsea, so that I could shoot a gallery exhibit that is opening tonight. I brought Reagan with me, since it would be low key and I was shooting it before it opened. The artist it Haroshi. He makes wooden sculptures out of old broken skateboard decks. So awesome. Here are a few shots of Reagan checking out the art.

The rain is supposed to stop by tomorrow morning, and there are rumors of sunshine and warmer temperatures. I’m crossing my fingers (and toes).

Even though this week has gone relatively quickly for me. I’m so glad that it is coming to an end. It finally feels like springtime in NYC. Have a great weekend.
