Ok, I believe that this is the hardest one, to date. Four differences, go!

I’m not doing a giveaway this week, sorry. But if you are looking for some swag, keep it locked on Hairdresser on Fire. Reagan is going to be giving away some good stuff over there to celebrate the one year “hairiversary” or something like that.

If you are like me, then you usually don’t bother watching an art video until it has showed up in your feed 4 or 5 times. It was the case with the northern lights video that I posted a few weeks ago, and it is the case again with the video in this post. So, if this is the 4th or 5th time you are seeing someone post this video, I’ll vouch for the fact that it is not a waste of 2 minutes.

On the Vimeo page, the author, Beepshow explains: “I shot a photo roughly every two miles between take-off in San Francisco and landing in Paris CDG to make this airplane time lapse.” I was wondering how he/she was able to be so consistent with the camera position. Apparently the Beepshow had the whole row to him/herself and was able to setup a tripod with an interval controller running the shutter. Pure awesome.

Just some stuff that I shot during my rainy commute today. I don’t even mind the rain, as long as it stays warm. Ah spring.

Even though the image on the right isn’t dialed in as much as I would have liked, I felt like these images were worth posting. They are from this shoot, which I really enjoyed (I especially love the shot of Eddie next to the punching bag).

As for giveaway No.6, thanks to everyone who participated. It seems like there are a lot of people with an opinion about Warhol’s work. It’s always interesting to hear all sides. I randomly chose two winners. They are Dakota and Amanda. So, hit me up with your shipping info and I’ll get them right out to you. I guess whoever responds first can choose which one they would like.

Let’s take it across the pond this week. Dan Black is British and what’s cooler is that you hear it when he sings. I recently started listening to this dude. The first track that I heard from him was “Symphonies” with Kid Cudi. I really like that song. But I like this one even more. It’s called “Yours.” Escute.

This past weekend was a bit of a crazy one. It started on Friday, shooting a Krink and G-shock collaborative installation on Wooster (above, and below– more looks on shotbyjake). Saturday was madness, but Reagan and I were able to get a lot of overdue tasks out of the way. One of these items was picking up a Fedex (we don’t have a door man), which happened to be Reagan’s passport. We also sneaked in a couple of quick tutorial video shoots on Saturday evening. Woot! Sunday Morning we ran a 10k in Central Park. It was a good reminder of how out of shape I am. The weather is supposed to be half way reasonable this week. So, I’m hoping to get myself back on a schedule.

We spent the rest of the day kicking it with Piper. She was asleep when we arrived. But she woke up when she heard Reagan talking. We had a good visit. But, believe it or not, we didn’t really shoot any photos with Piper this weekend. So lame, I know. Hopefully Reagan will be able to get a few tomorrow during her visit.

One more kind of fun thing that I did in the last couple days was shoot this vid for Radcollector.com–

Last night was a soiree to celebrate the launch of the new collaboration between Incase and the Andy Warhol foundation. The setup was awesome. The takeaway were these Incase iPhone 4 cases. I actually grabbed one for Reagan and one for a giveaway. But I realized later that she has a different model of iPhone (and I do Blackberry). So, there will be two winners this time around. Unfortunately these cases are not part of the new Warhol collaboration series, but they are still pretty styley.

So, if you are an iPhoner who would like to score one of these cases for your iPhone 4, let’s talk about art. In honor of the Warhol collab (and the new statue that just went up in Union Square near his former factory), leave a comment about Andy. It could be the first time you heard of him. It could commentary on his work,or whatever comes to mind. The first time that I ever really paid attention to who Andy Warhol was, I was in Jr. high. It was because of a movie called “Ruben and Ed.” The movie is still one of my favs, btw. In the movie, there was an old trailer in the middle of the desert with “Andy Warhol sucks a big one” painted on it in red spray paint. Ruben thought it was hilarious. So did I.

I will choose a winner at some point next week. Good luck!

As many know, I am married to a hair ninja. We started a little site for her, a year ago this month. Occasionally we shoot tutorial videos, where Reagan drops heaps of knowledge about hairstyling. This is our latest one. A few things to point out: There was a cat on the fire escape that wouldn’t shut up until we let it inside. Even though I sped up some sections and cut it way down, this video is still almost 20 minutes long. So, I guess the next one will probably be feature film length, hahahaha. Anyway, if you are looking for some new blow drying skills, check it out.

I felt like it was time to swing back over to the hip-hop side of things. If you are an Adele fan then you are probably just coming down off of the “21″ release. I have a lot of respect for the girl. I really liked her first album, and thought she was amazing on SNL. A couple of weeks ago, Gilbere Forte’s manager flowed me this track that GF did together with Adele.  I had the opportunity to shoot with Gilbere in the winter for and Edwin editorial. He is a super chill guy and I have a lot of respect for what he is doing. So, needless to say, I was pretty excited to see Adele and Gilbere collaborating on this track. It’s called “Set Fire to the Rain.” Give it a listen.

Ok, first of all– Reagan’s new salon is awesome. I have been there a few times, mostly to pick her up for a dinner date, etc.. Everyone I have met at the salon (including both of the owners) has been super cool to me. The space is beautiful. The decor is fantastic. They even have their own designer scent (FYI, it is nothing like that crap that Abercrombie pumps through its vents). Anyway, Reagan invited me over to her salon on a day when it is closed (Monday, yesterday)  to help shoot a rite of passage for one of her coworkers. When someone crosses over from assistant to stylist, they make kind of a big deal about it (since it is a pretty big deal). The person being promoted organizes a presentation with various models that they have styled. The image above was from the presentation last night. The entire presentation was equally impressive.

Onto the giveaway portion of this post. K, I have to say that I was a little bit amused by the amount of lovely commenters vying for the tote. I guess that dollar value isn’t always the definitive factor when anticipating interest in giveaways. I also learned that apparently a large portion of ppl who read JNB purchase produce from farmers markets and CSAs. Pretty dope. I would just like to take this opportunity to say that I have now been off the Papa Johns for about a week and a half. Reagan and I have bilaterally resolved to try to eat in more often. So, someday I might have the energy to go the extra mile and reduce my carbon footprint and all that. Next– I was generally very entertained/impressed with basically ALL of the comments. Because of this, I once again found myself in a bit of bind while trying to select a winner. The solution? First, I realized after posting gvwy5 that I actually have two of the featured totes. This was only slightly before my sister started hounding me on G-chat with “dude, you gotta give it to Jenn. Did you read her comment?” My reaction was yes and yes. Jenn, it is only right that I float you a new tote to relieve your pretty green one that has led such a valiant life, carrying yahtzee jr and other treasures. I mean, it is Autism awareness month, after all.

For the second winner, I did what any person in my situation would do, and turned to random.org. Bee, I’m not going to lie, I’m pretty glad that “7″ was the number that came up. I can’t tell you how many times I have used my favorite tote to safely transport my after hours footwear. I don’t currently own a pair of Chucks, but I’m glad that you do. I’m even more glad that this tote will facilitate you being able to transport them and rock them at will.

So, Jenn and Bee, please hit me up with your shipping addy’s when you have a free moment and I will have your new tote bags shipped off to you post haste. Also, congratulations.
