Chariots of Fire in Nassau County

by

After all of my complaining about the weather beforehand, I really had to eat my words on Sunday. Even though it was overcast and misting in the morning, the weather could not have been more ideal for running. I shaved about 20 minutes off of my time last year finishing at 4:08. I was shooting for 4:15, so I feel pretty good. When I got to Mi. 24 and saw that I was still well under 4 hours, I try to kick it up a bit. But by that point I was pretty dehydrated and a cramp that I had in one of my hamstrings felt like it was starting to tear a little bit (and today still feels like it may have). But I really had a good time. Right as I was approaching the finish, the sun came through the clouds and the weather got really nice. So we hung out in the park for a little while to cool down and get massages. The only way that it would have been more fun, is if Reagan could have run with me. It was good that I had so many activities last weekend, because I get so bored when she isn’t around. I’m really glad to have her home.

Nice job Turbo. I wish I could run more than two blocks without ralphing on the sidewalk.

Congratulations on making such good time. Were you able to climb the stairs to your apartment when you got home?
