This morning we went to Girona to visit our friend Stefanie. We were going to rent a car and drive the coast, but opted to just take the rail, since we would have had to turn in the car the same day (we fly out super early in the morning). It is a pretty awesome little town. There is stuff over there that isn’t much younger than the bible.

We had an awesome time and we are super stoked to do it again. We are equally as stoked to get home and hang out with the Pipster.

Today we hit one of Gaudi’s more well known structures. The place was mind blowing. Unfortunately the outside of it was covered partially in scaffolding (which it apparently always is). But the inside was crazy. I could not even wrap my head around how much attention to detail went into designing every square foot of that place. The shot above is of one of the cathedral’s side doors. Below is a detail of the same door.

All of this came after a fun filled night of hanging out with friends. One of Reagan’s good friends is from Spain. She happens to be in town visiting. She came to Barcelona and stayed with us last night. We met up with some of her friends and went to a party, then dancing. It was a really good time. We met some really cool people and had a great sample of the nightlife.

Tomorrow we drive up the coast to check out some castles and stuff.

Yeah, we went back to the tower, this time early in the morning and armed with a tripod. These are some of the results.

Here are some more shots from today–

We hit Luxembourg Gardens on Sunday. It is a beautiful spot.

This was after we went through the Paris Catacombs (thanks Jon). The place is crazy. There are the remains of some six million Parisians down there.

These shots are kinda crappy because is was super dark down there and no flash is allowed. But I think that they give a sense of what it is like. I was blown away. Reagan was creeped out.

One more day in Paris, then back to Spain.

In the morning, we hung out at the Louvre and the adjacent garden. Reagan took a ride on the carousel.

And a bunch of other stuff, but I’m kind of out of steam at the moment.

We arrived in France this morning. We actually flew into a small airport in the countryside. I was a bit annoyed, at first, about having to ride on a bus for another hour to actually get to Paris. We saw some beautiful countryside though. Actually, Reagan slept. Our hotel room here is pretty tiny. Reagan on our veranda-

The sky was awesome this evening. The light in the evening seemed a bit surreal. I had the wrong lens with me to shoot the tower. So, there might be some additional ones coming.

And here is one of my favs, Reagan about to fall asleep in her tea after a long day of wandering around.

Europe is 220v, so the above fire hazard is our current power situation. It seems to be working ok, so far. This place is so visually stimulating. One could spend weeks just taking in all of the minutia that a single block or alley has to offer.

We already have 1000 photos like the one below. I’m sure that we will have 1000 more before we head home.

This isn’t going to be the most exciting post in the world. But, I figured that I would take advantage and post a quick one while Reagan is napping. We flew Air Canada through Montreal (our layover, above). The Montreal airport was like a ghost town, which was nice because we were both able to take cat naps.

We arrived in Barcelona bright and early this morning. We did a bit of exploring and grabbed some brunch before Reagan declared siesta. Below is the view from our veranda.

Tonight: Gothic district, and Paris in the morning.

Early Sunday, Reagan and I took her family to Liberty Island. It was the first time that we had ever been there. We aimed to make it on the first boat over to the Statue of Liberty and nearly made it. We did eventually make it over to the island, but because we took a later boat over, we couldn’t spend very much time there (because we were meeting one of Reagan’s sister’s at Piper’s house). Anyway, Reagan’s fam went up into the statue pedestal. Reagan and I couldn’t go, since we had prohibited items (large umbrellas and an iPad). So we did what anyone would do and had a mini photo shoot. Hahaha.

Liberty Island is pretty awesome, but I’m not sure if it is worth all of the hassle to get over there. Here is one more pic.

Saturday evening, we took a stroll in Central Park. Not long after we entered the park, there was a micro burst, followed by some awesome evening light. Above: Reagan flipping her hair around; Below: from behind.
