Piper has already had a great new year. Yesterday, the Hopsons came with us to visit Piper. Apparently Piper was in the mood to show off. Reagan positioned her in a sitting up position and she was able to hold herself up for almost a minute. Check Reagan’s blob for the video. She was in great spirits again today. She was sitting up, propping herself up with her arms (like in the picture). Our visit with Piper was cut shorter than we wanted it to be, when Piper’s feeding tube became disconnected and spilled all over Reagan’s jeans.
In other great news, I came out to another ticket on the car today. Yippee. This time it is because the inspection expired on Dec. 31. I will probably get a $65 ticket every day between now and Monday, when I take it in to be serviced an inspected. NYC parking cops, serving and protecting.
Also, tonight Utah takes on Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. Cross your fingers for that one.
After we got everything packed and ready for our trip. Reagan and I decided to make some cookies to take to Piper’s nurse today. Reagan started making some sugar cookies and realized that we didn’t have a star shaped cookie cutter. Like most people, we have a roll of aluminum flashing under our sink from various other projects. So I told her I would make her a star shaped cutter.
It only took me 15 minutes. Hahaha.
I had to get my McGuyver on for this one. Notice my awesome new apron (all about the Benjamins). I got it from my mom for Christmas. Aparently she thinks I’m obsessed with money, or something. (kidding)
Here it is in action.
I love the recent HSBC ads like the one above. I really like the way that these ads distill down the idea of subjectivity. I tend to get so wrapped up in my opinion, that sometimes I feel like there is no other way to see things. Maybe part of that is NYC rubbing off on me. Maybe it is just my “type A” personallity shining through. I have a tendency to tongue lash drivers who I don’t like, and public figures that irk me (Lil’ Wayne). But I have tried to force myself lately, to take the high road (or the low road, depending on where you stand, Ha!), and be sympathetic to the idea that there are 2 (or more) sides to everything. So, next time you hear me talking about how so-and-so is super lame, or about how such-and-such, is the crappiest thing ever, feel free to remind me that I am an HSBC customer, and that I’m trying to be more open minded.
I have been threatening for a while and now, I finally did it. I have abandonned “Blogger.” The transition was a bit rockier than I had expected, but utlitmately, I think that I like it better. I haven’t decided if I’m going to put a playlist back on here yet. I know that most people probably check it through reader any way. But I was curious to see if the music annoys people, or if they thing it is nice. Leave a comment, if you care to weigh in on this issue (and you haven’t been totally left in the dust by my inability to figure out how to create a static rss file with the same name as it was before).
