Yet Another Awesome Longboarding Video. This film is called Lundberg Loses it. It is a short documentary about Erik Lundburg. It was shot by Kenny Luby. Aside from some helmet cam footage of a very high speed topple, the good stuff starts around the 6 minute mark.

Last night was the super moon. To be perfectly honest, it didn’t appear any larger to me than it has on previous occasions. But, it was very very bright. We were on the roof when it rose, and it was a very dark shade of yellow from all of the pollution. It was kind of a cool effect. I got a couple of shots when it was low in the sky, but I wasn’t super stoked about any of them. I did, however, quite like the one that I posted above. This was shot after the moon was much higher in the sky. Here are a few other times that I have shot the moon from our house: one time and another time.

Earlier Saturday evening, we were shooting some tutorials for Reagan’s hair blog. There was a cat on the fire escape that was meowing super loud. I think that it must have wandered up and become stuck. Anyway, we finally let it in, so that it would shut up. We immediately thought better of it. So, we put it back out. The cat then leaped from the fire escape to the sill of an adjacent window that was open (at least 3 or 4 feet away). and came back in.

Ultimately, I had to carry it down stairs and put it back out into the alley.

Backing up, a bit– Friday was beautiful. The high was well into the 70′s. I thought about going for an evening run, but then had a better idea. I called a couple of friends and we had a longboarding session in Central Park. I also brought along a little hand-held video camera (same one Jon used to shoot this), and some L.E.D. panels. I have been wanting to shoot a longboarding video since I saw this one, that I posted the other day. So, I figured I could get some ideas, shooting with the crappy camera for when we really go back and do it right. I think that having the moon out was key. Anyway, here is what we shot Friday night.

Happy Friday! I decided to post the controversial second part of Reagan’s interview. In case you missed the first, it’s over here. Anyway, I thought it would be appropriate to post today, for a couple of reasons. First, it is nasty and rainy outside. So, the next best thing to actually being under a blanket sipping tea next to a fake-fireplace, is watching someone else do it. Second, we have been in a fight for a few weeks now about our impending spring vacation. It has been pretty heavy. Anyway, I finally broke down and bought the tickets yesterday. So, the fight is over. What does that have to do with the video? Well, since you asked… The second minute or so of the vid is Reagan and I arguing about Snooki. If you can’t tell from the video, it is all tongue in cheek. In reality, I don’t think that either of us really have strong feelings about the New Jersian one way or the other. Here it is–

On the heels of a post where I wrote that “I hate to get too video heavy,” I am posting yet another video. I give you part II of the interview that Reagan did with me on P-day ’11. FYI, I don’t know if I’m going to be allowed to post the second half of the Reagan interview. Because, we get in a fight about Snooki, and Reagan thinks that I’m talking kind of mean in it. Which.. I do talk kind of mean, but it is mostly about Snooki. Anyway–

I hate to get too video heavy on here. I am one of those people who generally won’t even watch a video until I see it show up in at least 2 or 3 places. But there are certain subjects that get me hooked from the title. Longboarding+Madrid=can’t really go wrong. This thing is beautifully shot. It definitely kept my attention for the full 5 minutes. Check it out, if you love longboarding too.

Ok, here is the first segment of the Reagan interview that we did on Presidents’ day. Please don’t fault me for leaving off the apostrophe after “Presidents” in the lead-in credits. Reagan discusses her admiration of Gaga, her love for bowling and various other things. It’s kind of lengthy… 7:32. Your call. Enjoy.

We did a couple of dumb little interviews a while ago (mine, Reagan’s), when we drove to VA. Reagan didn’t really like the way she looked in hers, so she never posted it. But, she did like the idea. Anyway, we did a couple more of these on Monday night, since it was a holiday, and all. I don’t think that they are that great, but it was kind of fun to make them. I didn’t really spend much time editing. After completely botching the first part of the video below (and didn’t feel like it was worth the time to fix it), I decided to leave them uncut, for the most part. I did divide both of our interviews into two parts though, because they were getting long winded. I mean— what is this, Barbara Walters? I’ll post the first half of Reagan’s interview later this week. But I have decided that I’m not the best at coming up with leading questions like she is. So, if you would like to help me out with some questions to ask Reagan in her next interview, hit me at interview@reagansblob.com. Try to keep it light hearted (i.e. no politics, religion or other widely controversial topics) please.

In any case, here is part one of Reagan interviewing me, in which I discuss my beard, Mr. Ed and other important things. Notice how Reagan asks questions like she is playing the part of Miley Cyrus on the SNL talk show skit, bombarding me with 50 questions at a time. I think that I do a reasonably good job remaining calm under pressure. The background music for this entire series is Biggie’s “I got a story to tell” instrumental. These videos will probably make you hate it. Sorry, Biggie.

Alas, I have decided to remove this video. It is probably just paranoia on my part. But, I got nervous about publishing a discussion that involved office politics, even if it is tongue in cheek. I feel like the video was kind of crap, anyway. I will probably post the second half of it next week (which I think is safe), after posting Reagan’s. K? K.

I dreamed about snowboarding all night, then woke up to 4 inches of snow on the ground and this video in multiple spots on my reader feed. Sometimes life is so cruel. Happy Presidents Day.

And now, the flipside to this post-- Here is a video of me interviewing Reagan, also during our trip to VA. BTW, I suppose that I should have punctuated the lead-in text a little better. Because it sort of seems like it says that I’m interviewing Reagan about what it is like to live in a carwash. In reality, I would like to interview someone about what it is like to live in a carwash. Maybe next time.

I have a few words to preface this video. First of all– I feel like this is the must unflattering angle of my face. It makes it look like I have a double chin. Secondly– the fact that I’m chewing gum lamentably does not help the double chin factor. third– Reagan is covering the microphone during most of the later half of the interview. So, good luck understanding the monkey story. Finally– Please try to ignore my disgusting teeth. Kelvis, I know they are what you were talking about when you said that my ears aren’t my “worst feature, by a long shot.” Someday, I will lay down the cash to get them fixed. Until then, I will smile with my mouth closed, and try to stay behind the camera, instead of in front of it.

Side note– It isn’t Reagan’s fault that she is covering the mic for part of the video. For whatever reason, I have noticed that in general, women have a propensity to hold an SLR camera like it was a polaroid, with one hand on either side of the body (instead of one hand on the body/shutter button, and one hand under the lens). I blame this on the advent of auto focus. It is the same reason that you see some people driving down the highway at 70+ MPH with their brake lights on, because they never drove a car with a clutch (so they have one foot on the gas and one foot on the brake). Technology is a double edged sword.
