Punting this week. Not the strongest track, but I wasn’t about to skip another one. This is B.O.B. (from that annoying “got nu nu nu nu nuthin on you” song). I’m not going to lie. Most of his stuff is kind of obnoxious in my opinion. But he does a track with Rivers Cuomo from Weezer called “Magic” which is pretty good. I also like this one. It is a new take on a Vampire Weekend song. It’s called “The Kids.” Spin it.

Reagan and I spent the majority of the weekend, starting Friday, in Eastern Long Island. The occasion was for our close friend Sarah’s wedding. The wedding was amazing. It was a lot of work for Reagan, since she was actually in the wedding. The bride and all of the maids looked flawless (Reagan published a few photos more wedding photos on Hairdresser on fire).  Reagan was no exception. I sneaked my camera along in a tote. I didn’t want to be that guy waving around a big camera, as if the people who were being paid mad cash to shoot the thing weren’t doing a sufficient job. One of the favs that I snapped was the image above.

Saturday evening, we were chilling in the hotel room, and the light was just blasting in from the window, right before the sun set. Reagan was sitting on the bed eating some swedish fish, when I snapped this one. This ended up being one of my favorite shots from the weekend.

Another good week. I’m going to go ahead and give myself another A. It was tough convincing myself to run on the 4th of July, as well as both Saturday and Sunday, being that we were staying in eastern Long Island for a wedding. But, I still managed to knock out the mileage. I am really starting to enjoy running again, which is exactly the feeling that I was working so hard to get back. I still have a long way to go pace-wise and trim wise. But, I’m really glad to be enjoying the process again. Also– Helen, thanks for pointing out the oversight. I will make sure to affix the “nerdy stuff” tag this week

I posted one of these images a while back, vaguely mentioning what it was about. Well…. One of Reagan’s friends and long-time client has worked in fashion forever. She recently left her full time gig, in order to freelance. She had this idea where she would use her apartment to style up items, photograph them and sell them online. A few weeks ago she asked me if I would like to shoot it, and help with the web stuff. It sounded fun, so of course I said yes. Anyway, The site went live today. I think that it is pretty cool, given the fact that it was all done with two days of shooting, and only about a week and a half of coding (mostly done by my friend Joe, who I enlisted to help share the load). We had a great weekend, with all sorts of patriotic activities. Sunday night, Reagan threw a bachelorette party for her friend who is getting married next weekend. I took the opportunity, while she was out, to build and install her new desk in the former guest bedroom.

She didn’t waste any time putting it to use.

Monday, we barbequed on the roof with our friends Joe, Jen and Frank (plus Nikki the dog) and lit sparklers. The sunset was basically the most amazing thing ever. Here are a few images from the festivities.

Well, I did much better this week. In fact, I think that I’m going to give myself an A. I did the proscribed workout every day that I was supposed to this week. Even though I wasn’t able  to hit my target pace again, on Saturday, I blame it partially on the miles that I did on the bike, the previous day. And on Sunday, I (accidentally) threw in an extra mile (in the rain). So, in the effort category, I definitely deserve an A this week. I have to say though, mileage-wise, this training program seems a little too easy compared to the one that I did last year. I guess we will see how it does. If my pace doesn’t start dropping in another couple of weeks, I will switch it up. Here are my running totals from the last week-

Two notable experiences this week: On Saturday, while running in Jersey, I saw a huge dead alligator snapping turtle. It was freaky looking. Now I finally believe Reagan’s story about seeing a gator cross the road on the Sprain Parkway. On Sunday my run was in Central Park, it was overcast and light rain for most of my run, until the last 3 miles, which turned into the craziest thunderstorm, ever. It was raining so hard that I couldn’t even hear my feet sloshing on the ground.

I mentioned before that my homey M. Cuomo was going to leave his single speed in my care when he moved to Florence. Well, dudes, here she is. I have named her Trixie. Someday she might even be Trixie the fixie. But for now she is just a very loved single speed who just got herself a new set of drop bars.

The top two shots are of Trix as she looked after I took her in. Since then I have hooked her up with a new set of Nitto drop bars. I also flipped over the gooseneck on the stem for a more aggressive riding position. Try not to be jealous. I know that Trixie is hot. I haven’t even had a chance to ride her with the new bars. But Friday is my day off of running. So, you better believe that I’m going to be taking Trixie to work tomorrow instead of the A Train. Some shots of her new bars, below.

Last night was one of the rare occasions that I made it into the East Village. Shockingly enough, this time it wasn’t to get my Crif Dog fix. I shot a soiree for Lucky Magazine held at a little speakeasy styled spot on East 3rd. Reagan joined the party after she left the salon. Our friend Amanda also met up with us.
