Our good friend Zach has been holding it down for a while now, at Kielhs. It just so happens that the brand teamed up for a benefit collab with Jersey bred [former] street artist Kaws. They held a soiree at the Kiehls flagship store to showcase the collection. Zach was kind enough invite me to cover it for SoJones. I was happy to oblige. I has as much fun kicking it with Zach and just catching up, as I did shooting. You know I had to get at least one good shot of the DJ working the fader.

Before tonight, I hadn’t really had a chance to take any NYC Christmas light photos. So here are my contributions, so far:

We have already had a pretty busy week, this week. I worked late yesterday, but still managed to fit in a winter line launch party for Flud Watches. Then Tuesday night, Reagan and I attended a (work related) holiday party at Rockefeller Center. It was at one of the restaurants that is adjacent to the skating rink. Skating was included in the party festivities. I went to this party alone a couple of years ago, and Reagan really felt bad, because I don’t really even like skating, she does. Plus she had been begging me to take her. So I hope that this year makes up for it. We brought the point and shoot, but it died after the first shot. So, all of these pics are from the gritty lil blackberry cam.

Apparently Reagan, at some point today read a Facebook blurb from my sister about cherry limeade. She said that she had been craving one, ever since.  So, that is what she ordered at the bar. The bar tender was a little bit stumped at first. But after she explained it a little bit, the mixologist (yes, I am using that term, because the dude earned it) came up with a pretty fancy looking drink that seemed to satisfy Reagan’s fever. Try to ignore my totally serious face, below. I was focusing pretty intently on keeping a steady arm for the photo. Doesn’t Reagan look cute though?

In addition to all of the festivities of the last couple of days, we also finished our Christmas cards tonight! Man, I’m feeling pretty productive, right about now.

Here is a link to a couple more crappy blackberry cam shots of Reagan posing with her skates on.

Yesterday was my first day back to work, after all of my time off. I can already say that I wish I was back on vacation, hahahaha. I guess that it doesn’t help, that I came back to a headache of a deal, with a bunch of super stressed out (rightly so) people. I would probably still be there (instead of working from home), if the Toyota service center didn’t close at 9.

Anyway, I wish that I could get back to the Atlanta Police station in the pic. It is actually no longer used as a police station, but as a Music studio. Reagan’s sister and brother-in-law rent a space there to practice. We had a really fun jam session there, while Reagan and I were visiting, over Christmas weekend.

Alas, I couldn’t put off working and apartment shopping forever.

Today Piper and I had the rare opportunity of some daddy/daughter one on one time. It was really cool. I don’t have a chance to do this often. For Reagan, it is most Fridays. I was able to give Piper a bath, help with her trache change, read her stories and play with her. I didn’t have to feel guilty about hogging her to myself the whole time. She, of course was as cute as ever. Today I also finally got around to posting the pictures of us hanging out with Piper on Christmas day, as well as the gem below, of Reagan tearing into her presents on Christmas morning.

Reagan’s sister organized a little Christmas program for the family. Everyone shared a little thought, talent, song, etc. with the rest of the fam. Reagan and two of her sisters put together this contribution:

We had a freaking awesome time with Piper on Christmas morning. She got so many new toys, she doesn’t even know what to do with herself. I’ll get into that more, later. Anyway, we left Westchester around 1, for the airport. We flew out of Newark for the first time ever. It was pretty much the smoothest trip we have ever had. We got a great parking spot at the airport. We made it through ticketing and security, no problem, sat on an exit row. Blah blah blah.

We are having it great time here hanging out with Reagan’s family. We went to waffle house for breakfast.

Her sister and brother in law gave us tickets to the Aquarium.

Then we saw a hockey game afterward.

After the game, Reagan’s brother-in-law took us for a tour of CNN. It was pretty freaking awesome.

After we got everything packed and ready for our trip. Reagan and I decided to make some cookies to take to Piper’s nurse today. Reagan started making some sugar cookies and realized that we didn’t have a star shaped cookie cutter. Like most people, we have a roll of aluminum flashing under our sink from various other projects. So I told her I would make her a star shaped cutter.

It only took me 15 minutes. Hahaha.

I had to get my McGuyver on for this one. Notice my awesome new apron (all about the Benjamins). I got it from my mom for Christmas. Aparently she thinks I’m obsessed with money, or something. (kidding)

nd.jpg As cleche as it may be, I had to do a Christmas song this week. This is the second ska song that I have shared. I promise, I’m not some sort of rude boy wannabe, or something. It is just happens that this is one of my favorite (secular-style) Christmas songs. The last ska song, by the Beat, was a sample of British Ska. This time we are getting down to the Southern California brand of the genre with No Doubt. This was before Gwen shacked up with Gavin and got all weird. All of that is beside the point. This song tells a happy little Christmas story about how the punks and the skins weren’t getting a long. At one point they get into a roof  brawl. Just when things are getting really ugly, God comes down on Christmas day, saying “Oi” to the punks and to the skins. By the end of the song, the punks and the skins are so caught up in Christmas spirit, that they go back to the bar and buy each other bourbon. I mean, if that doesn’t say Merry Christmas, I don’t know what does. Check it out—-

wonderful-life.jpg I know that it isn’t Dec. 31st yet, but dude, I seriously cannot believe how fast this year flew by! I mean, just yesterday it was January 2008, and tomorrow is already Christmas. Reagan has been ordering some Christmas movies from Netflix. A couple of nights ago we watched “It’s a Wonderful Life.” Even though it is on TV about 6000 times every year (B&W and Color version, take your pick), oddly enough, neither Reagan or myself had seen it the whole way through. We both though it was great. We weren’t aware, however, of the lost ending to the movie until last night. Apparently the footage was recently found. We discovered this while watching a compilation of SNL Christmas sketches (another one of Reagan’s Netflix choices).  I thought that some others may be interested to see the way that the movie really ended. So, here it is. Don’t forget to check out Shatner, wearing his weird Camo zip up, while announcing the find.

fireplacedvd.jpg

In New York City, for several obvious reasons, although many of the older apartments in contain fireplaces, no fires are allowed. This is kind of a bummer, for those who enjoy lighting the yule log around this time of year. In this modern age, however, there exists a digital solution for this conundrum. The NY Times actually published an article about it today. That’s right, friends, throw in the fireplace DVD and you are all set (minus heat and aroma). Humorously enough, Reagan actually purchased one of these fine cinematic works last year. She even made me put it on, during our post Thanksgiving day pie party. Hahahah. The one that Reagan bought, actually has several fireplace options, as well as an aquarium option (we don’t get much use out of that one) and a lava lamp setting. So if you are keeping it local in NYC this season and craving some yule tide cheer, pick up one of these discs. Actually, I’m sure that Reagan would probably let you borrower hers.
