First of all, the weather was basically heaven. This fact makes it sting a bit more that I was feeling under the weather for the entire weekend (and still am today). But I’ll take the beautiful weather, sick or not. We went kind of crazy with the photos this weekend. I’m not really sure why. Above: walking to our car to go visit PJ on Saturday. Below: Piper got her hair did.

Sunday was, of course, mothers’ day. So I started off the day taking Reagan to the Donut Plant, on the LES. They have some seriously crazy donuts there. Reagan, was going nuts. I won’t say how many she ordered (and ate, hehe).

Walking back to the car, Reagan saw these rubber bouncy horse-like things hanging from a Chinatown bodega awning and asked if we could get one for Piper.

We picked the green one. Piper was pretty stoked about her little horse. I think that she is still getting used to it. But she definitely appreciates both the practical fun aspect, as well as the humor.

After she had a chance to give her green pony a ride or two, we packed up and headed outside.

And just when you thought this post couldn’t get any more photo-heavy, here is one more fave from the weekend (ps, plenty more over here).

Piper was in a great mood this morning when we were hanging out with her. Of course we had to snap some Mothers’ Day shots.

We broke out some timer action for a family shot.

Before we left, Reagan snapped the shot below. I think that it might be one of my favorite shots that I have, of me holding PJ. That goofy little grin melts me every time.

Here is a link to a few more that we snapped this morning.

In a couple of weeks, one of the most important moms in my life will have been a mom for 3 years. It is pretty crazy to think back on things. I am, of course referring to Reagan. Coincidentally, the photo below is of Reagan and my Ma B, hanging out with lil’ PJ, the week that she was born.

I would have to say that I am pretty lucky to have such a couple of great moms, both a part of my immediate family.

One thing that has always amazed me about Reagan, is that no matter how stressed we were about Piper. Reagan has been happy to spend every minute that we have had, with her. We had no idea what to expect, when Piper was so little. But I feel like Reagan’s genuine joy, to be Piper’s mother shows through in these photos, during a time of such uncertainty.

So much has changed in the span of three years. Piper has changed so much and made so much progress. One thing that has certainly not changed one bit, is Reagan’s dedication and love for her daughter. (Below: Piper using Reagan’s head for an armrest, Reagan loving every minute of it [shot yesterday])

I am truly grateful for the example of Reagan, Ma B, and all of the other wonderful mothers who have inspired me in one way or another during my life. Motherhood is no small feat. You are truly amazing women.

We had a pretty good weekend, considering that it was supposed to continue to rain all day Saturday. Apparently, mother nature was able to get it all out of her system early that day, because it actually shaped up to be a pretty nice little weekend, weather-wise after Saturday morning. Reagan cut hair in the morning, then palled around with her girlfriends for most of the day. But we were able to go out for a stroll/skate in the evening. It was very pleasant. Reagan loaded up on bubble gum on her last trip to target. So she spent pretty much the entire outing, trying to impress me with her bubble blowing skills.

Sunday morning we got up nice and early, so that we could make it to Central Park in time for a Mother’s day race. We had a really good time. Reagan and I ran most of the race together. We finished in time to make it back for church. This was a bonus, given that one of our friends who is moving away, was giving an address yesterday.

We spent the entire afternoon visiting Piper (which I will address later), then had a barbecue with some of our friends in the evening. The chicken that we had taken out to thaw, was no where near ready, by the time we were going to the bbq, so I was just going to make a sandwich. But Carl bailed me out at the last minute with some cheese filled brats. So meaty. Thanks again, man.
