Last night we ended up at a party at the top of the Standard. I went there once during a Fashion Week event, but never at night. The view was great. I was glad that I had a camera with me.

Reagan was running around with her friends goofing off the entire time. I was waiting to get a call from her that they had been thrown out. It’s a good thing that our friend Jen, who invited us, is kind of a big deal (<—spoken in the voice of Ron Burgundy) in the context of the party (and in general).

One more city shot. I didn’t like that there was so much window glare in this one. But I did like the fog and the Empire State Building.

Ok, first of all– feel free to count the number of beards that appear in this post. Second of all– we had a blast last night. There were a lot of cool people who showed up to the party at Kiehl’s. Reagan was chatting it up with Dexter, before I snapped the image above. She was interviewing him for her hair blog.  The shot below is of my homey Zach, in action. Zach is the guy in the middle of the frame wielding the 5D. It was the first time that our beards had ever met. They seemed to hit it off nicely.

I am a big fan of Jeff Koons, so Zach actually volunteered to take the shot below. He is a pretty cool guy. In addition to his art, I can definitely appreciate all of the philanthropy that he does.

Finally, a shot of Reagan in front of step and repeat, in some of  her new digs.  She was looking pretty hot last night.

After the Kiehl’s party, we met up with some of Reagan’s friends for a wrap party for a movie that Reagan was an extra in. It was good times all around. I have been battling a cold, or something for the last several days. When I woke up this morning, it was a bit more than I could handle, so I ended up working from home. This actually worked out kind of nicely, since my brother arrived this morning. We were at least able to get lunch together, etc.. More good stuff later this week.

Even though I should have spent the evening picking up trash, planting trees and rescuing puppies, I went to a party, instead. I mentioned earlier this week about my friend Zach’s connex with Kiehl’s. Well, unfortunately Jeff Koons and Pharrell didn’t make it out to the party. But it was still a really good time.  I had a great time chatting it up with Zach, and the other guys shooting the event.

I also ran into/met Joanna, a blog-o-sphere friend for the first time, in person. I always wondered if it would be an awkward situation, when and if I ever met someone in person, who I had previously only come to know the online version of. As it turns out, it wasn’t awkward, at all. I’m sure it helped matters that we have some mutual (real life-o-sphere) friends in common. Reagan and I have both been reading her page, since she featured an item relating out our friends, a little over a year ago. Actually, Reagan was probably reading before that. Anyway, she is just as nice, cute and friendly in real life as you would expect her to be, from reading her work.

Here are a few additional photos from the party:

On New Year’s Day, we showed up to visit Piper, and she was apparently still partying from the night before.

We are still trying to get used to her new place. It has been really good to be able to visit her so much since she moved. We were able to have some really great visits with her Baker grandparents.

Last night we attended a party thrown by our friends Kim and Ryan, in Harlem. It was a lot of fun, because they went ALL OUT. The indoor decorations are well documented over on Kim’s blog, if you want to get a sense of what I’m talking about. But it didn’t stop there. They had dancing on the roof.

Even though I’m not much of a dancer, and I was freezing/begging Reagan to come back inside with me the whole time. It was really cool. And, for those who were dancing, it didn’t seem like the cold was affecting them much. Notice Reagan’s breath in the shot below:

There are a few more photos over here.

Our good friend Zach has been holding it down for a while now, at Kielhs. It just so happens that the brand teamed up for a benefit collab with Jersey bred [former] street artist Kaws. They held a soiree at the Kiehls flagship store to showcase the collection. Zach was kind enough invite me to cover it for SoJones. I was happy to oblige. I has as much fun kicking it with Zach and just catching up, as I did shooting. You know I had to get at least one good shot of the DJ working the fader.

Before tonight, I hadn’t really had a chance to take any NYC Christmas light photos. So here are my contributions, so far:

We have already had a pretty busy week, this week. I worked late yesterday, but still managed to fit in a winter line launch party for Flud Watches. Then Tuesday night, Reagan and I attended a (work related) holiday party at Rockefeller Center. It was at one of the restaurants that is adjacent to the skating rink. Skating was included in the party festivities. I went to this party alone a couple of years ago, and Reagan really felt bad, because I don’t really even like skating, she does. Plus she had been begging me to take her. So I hope that this year makes up for it. We brought the point and shoot, but it died after the first shot. So, all of these pics are from the gritty lil blackberry cam.

Apparently Reagan, at some point today read a Facebook blurb from my sister about cherry limeade. She said that she had been craving one, ever since.  So, that is what she ordered at the bar. The bar tender was a little bit stumped at first. But after she explained it a little bit, the mixologist (yes, I am using that term, because the dude earned it) came up with a pretty fancy looking drink that seemed to satisfy Reagan’s fever. Try to ignore my totally serious face, below. I was focusing pretty intently on keeping a steady arm for the photo. Doesn’t Reagan look cute though?

In addition to all of the festivities of the last couple of days, we also finished our Christmas cards tonight! Man, I’m feeling pretty productive, right about now.

Here is a link to a couple more crappy blackberry cam shots of Reagan posing with her skates on.

Brian McKnight

Omarion

Monday night, I had the occasion of shooting DJ Webstar’s b-day party for SoJones at the M2 Ultralounge in midtown west. Omarion and Brian McKnight are a few of the celebs that showed. You can check out the rest of my photos at Sojones, as soon as the article is published. I was just invited back, to shoot Mariah Carey’s Halloween party, at the same club. The only problem is that we are already going to Weezer’s party that night. Speaking of Weezer, Reagan met some of them yesterday. So cool.

RocaWear Fashion's Night Out 2009 Party

This is another one from the party last Thursday. I really don’t like most of the stuff that I have shot with a flash. Probably because I’m not very good at it. I did like the way that this one came out, though. So much, that I posted it over here too.

Reagan and I had a very enjoyable weekend. In addition to the Piper visits, we paid a visit to Brooklyn Industries, so that Reagan could exchange one of her Christmas presents (above). Then, Saturday night we had a little get-together for Reagan’s birthday. It was a lot of fun. I ran to grab the camera, so I could get a picture of Reagan blowing out the candles. Let’s just say that the pic didn’t come out so great. I’m not going to post it on here. But you can check it out here, if you would like to see some photography skills at their finest.

The weather was absolutely beautiful on Sunday, which didn’t stop me from taking a 4 hour nap after church. We went for a quick walk in the evening then watched a movie. Pretty much textbook.
