I posted one of these images a while back, vaguely mentioning what it was about. Well…. One of Reagan’s friends and long-time client has worked in fashion forever. She recently left her full time gig, in order to freelance. She had this idea where she would use her apartment to style up items, photograph them and sell them online. A few weeks ago she asked me if I would like to shoot it, and help with the web stuff. It sounded fun, so of course I said yes. Anyway, The site went live today. I think that it is pretty cool, given the fact that it was all done with two days of shooting, and only about a week and a half of coding (mostly done by my friend Joe, who I enlisted to help share the load). Anyway, check it out when you get a chance. The site is Hollysapartment.com. Also, check out the write-up in Racked, today. Here are the rest of the rooms we shot, below–

We had a great weekend, with all sorts of patriotic activities. Sunday night, Reagan threw a bachelorette party for her friend who is getting married next weekend. I took the opportunity, while she was out, to build and install her new desk in the former guest bedroom.

She didn’t waste any time putting it to use.

Monday, we barbequed on the roof with our friends Joe, Jen and Frank (plus Nikki the dog) and lit sparklers. The sunset was basically the most amazing thing ever. Here are a few images from the festivities.

The shot below was some team work. Reag wrote “Happy,” Jen wrote “Fourth.”

The next photo was all my idea (haha). Frank shot it for us.

You will probably recognize my hand style on this one.

Last night was one of the rare occasions that I made it into the East Village. Shockingly enough, this time it wasn’t to get my Crif Dog fix. I shot a soiree for Lucky Magazine held at a little speakeasy styled spot on East 3rd. Reagan joined the party after she left the salon. Our friend Amanda also met up with us. We had a great time and made some new friends. One more shot–

Not too long ago, on JNB, I gave away a canvas pouch by Madewell. Last week, I received some photos of the pouch in action, with its new owner. The winner was Bethany, and as it turns out, she owns a pair of glocks (a 19 and a 26) named Elsa and Gertie. Well, here are the images. I have to say, it looks like a custom fit.

B, I’m so glad that the pouch worked out. Thanks again for the images!

Despite the less than ideal weather yesterday, I ended up being super productive. I got a couple of images that I really like. The shot above is of the new JR piece on Houston (same spot as Scharf, Fairey, Os Gemeos, etc.). For a couple more looks of the JR piece jump over here. Since it was Thursday, I also hit like 3 gallery openings. All of the installations were very cool. My favorite was probably the show that opened at Kasmin last night. There were a lot of big names there, which makes it fun. Also, I think that I may have shot the only photo in existence, of KAWS smiling. Anyway, while I was scurrying around Chelsea, I saw this girl running like she was being chased by a dude with a chainsaw (she wasn’t).

Apologies to the girl in the photo for recording her stressful moment. But I thought it was awesome to see a girl straight sprinting while wearing a dress. Speaking of stressful moments, check out this mighty comical story that our friend Katie posted this week.

Have a great weekend!

It was a pretty good one. As a bonus, the light was extra pretty while we were driving. Not a bad way to start out the week.

If you haven’t entered to win the Manfrotto kit, hurry up. I’m closing comments on Wednesday and announcing the winner on Thurs. Get stoked.

Wednesday night was kind of fun because Reagan and I were working at the ASH Footwear party in SoHo. I shoot these types of events fairly often. I have to admit that they aren’t my favorite thing to shoot. But the fact that Reagan and some of her salon friends were there, made it a lot of fun. I shot several images of Reagan working her magic.

The party was hosted by Solange Knowles. Here is a shot of Reagan and her friends from the salon with Ms. Knowles.

Reagan wrote about the event on Hairdresser on Fire, if you want to check it out.

I’m pretty excited to get the weekend started. I haven’t seen Piper for too long. I hope that she remembers me, hehe. I wish that it could be a little bit more of a chill weekend. Alas, it is booked to the gills. Reagan is throwing a bridal shower on Sunday. So, I will be helping her set it up on Saturday/Sunday and doing the photography. Sunday morning (fathers day) I have a race in CP. Then Sunday eve, we will be taking down the shower venue. Despite the busyness that this weekend brings, I’m glad to be able to spend some time hanging out with Reagan and PJ, again.

Have a great weekend!

Sunday morning, we set out on a small road trip to Eastern UT to visit Arches National Park, near Moab. I know that I’m a bit biased, having been reared in the beehive state, but Arches NP is unlike anything around. Before Last weekend, I hadn’t been there for at least a solid 10 years. Probably closer to 15. So, I was starting to worry that possibly my memory of the place had sweetened it up a bit in my mind. But to my delight, I was just as blown away as the first time that I visited, back in times of yore.

Here are a few of the arches that we hiked to:

I’m back in NYC. I’m totally underwater. Unlike Europe, while away this time, I was no where near a computer for most of the vacation. In addition, both of my blackberry batteries died (and I wasn’t around outlets long enough to charge them [plus I kind of didn't really want to]). So, I’m super behind on email and everything else. While I’m trying to get caught up, here are a couple of quick relatively randomly selected shots from Arches Nat. Park.

Try to spot Mike in the shot below.

There will be a proper vacay report coming later this week. Happy Tuesday.

Yesterday morning bright and early I was at the Standard Hotel shooting the arrival of a traveling piece by KAWS. It is actually one of the same pieces that was at the Aldrich, last year.

Onto equally exciting news– I leave tonight for Salt Lake City with my good friend M. Cuomo. We are headed out for a “man” weekend in the wild west. Cuomo is moving to Italy next month and as a sendoff we felt like some male bonding would be appropriate. The planned activities include:

  1. Camping
  2. Fishing
  3. Hiking
  4. Shooting guns
  5. Flying
  6. Riding quads
  7. Breaking stuff

I still have to pack, but I have a feeling it will be pretty easy. The only downside to all of this, is that I started coming down with a nasty head cold yesterday. At first I just thought it was my incessant allergies. When I woke up this morning, I knew differently. Nothing like flying while congested. Dayquil, don’t fail me now.
