Thursday, I was super busy. I started off early, shooting the Fall 2011 Adidas Outdoor stuff at the Adidas showroom on Houston. Later in the day, I made my way over to the Opera Gallery to shoot the opening of Saber’s exhibit.

Even later, I went to the opening of a new Sunglasses Hut in SoHo, to say hi to my favorite Bumbys. I did’t get evaluated this time. Because, let’s face it, I’m not going to do any better than I did last time. Hehe

Then I finished off the night with a late dinner in the East Village with some friends. Friday, I woke with a respiratory infection, and could barely breathe. I basically didn’t get out of bed all day long. Luckily, I’m feeling a bit better today. So, I’m not so nervous about going to see Piper (I’ll just wear a mask). Of course this crap hits me during the most beautiful stretch of weather that we have had this year. I’m so pissed about it. I’m hoping to shake it off by Monday and get serious about running again. I hate feeling like a sickly little slacker. I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend.

Feel free to skip this post. It is nothing more than a long complaint. I am sick for the 9000000th time, this year. I knew it was going to happen when my office mate came in coughing her lungs out last Thursday. It is a little bit ridiculous. I was supposed to run 11 miles Wednesday morning. When I woke up sneezing at 2:30 and couldn’t go back to sleep, I realized it wasn’t going to happen. I was hoping that it was just allergies. But somewhere around noon, when I was still blowing my nose every 5 minutes, I knew I was in trouble. After work, I was supposed to go out with Reagan and some friends to a movie that she scored some tickets to. Instead, I stayed home, did laundry and took a photo.  Initially I was going to try to get a shot of the lightning going on outside, but decided that I didn’t have the patience or energy at the moment. So, instead I took a super exciting shot of my B-berries sitting on my desk.

I’m supposed to do a 21 mile run on Saturday and the Hartford marathon in 2 weeks. I’m kind of freaking out.

I guess that Swine Flu is, like, a real thing now. At least the WHO has kicked the warnings up a notch, and there are people that we know of, who are infected by it. As a result, Reagan’s friend who flew all of the way out here from California, was only able to meet Piper for 10 minutes. When Reagan and her friend first arrived at the hospital on Friday, they were flat out denied from seeing Piper. The staff stated that the Swine Flu precautions has prompted a family only policy until the threat diminishes. Only after several minutes of sobbing and begging, was Reagan able to convince the staff to let her friend in to visit.

Because of all of this, we weren’t able to see Piper at all on Saturday. Sunday, when we visited her, Piper was not feeling too hot. She was running a fever and had an elevated heart rate. She also puked a couple of times. The puking isn’t very out of the ordinary for Piper. But her fever had us kind of worried. Her nurse had the doctor check her out, and they started Piper on some meds. They also took some cultures, etc.. The cultures, btw, came back negative for influenza (phew!). We are hoping it is nothing. She was a pretty wiped out little girl the whole time we were there, though. She did crack a couple of smiles for us, before we left. Such a little cutie. A couple of more pics, can be seen here.

Reagan and I both woke up this morning with nasty colds. I worked from home, and she was able to come home early. I was able to wrap things up around 6, and logout. So we took advantage and played several rounds of sequence. Reagan received it as an early birthday gift, recently. It was the perfect day, not to have to go outside. It snowed this morning and rained the rest of the day. Reagan and I both have chapped noses from wiping them so much. Hopefully this hefty dose of Nyquil that I just took, will help me feel like a million bucks in the morning.

puffsplus.jpg I swear, I have been kind of sick so many times this year. It is kind of ridiculous. I have never had a full blown cold, or flu, or any of that. I get stuffed up at night and in the morning, and sneeze a lot during the day. I also get the headache behind my eyes. So annoying.

At least I haven’t had to deal with the full on, misery of the rhino virus like Reagan has. She is actually really sick for the second time in like 6 weeks. Of course it always happens when I’m chained to my desk on some super time suck of a project. Which makes it so that I can’t really even be around in the evenings to make soup and do the other, take-care-of -sick-spouse duties.

Anyway, she is rocking the dayquil, and I’m throwing back zinc/vitamin C lozenges. Fingers crossed that we can kick whatever it is, that’s ailing us, then ride it out until Spring without further incident.
