Reagan and I spent the majority of the weekend, starting Friday, in Eastern Long Island. The occasion was for our close friend Sarah’s wedding. The wedding was amazing. It was a lot of work for Reagan, since she was actually in the wedding. The bride and all of the maids looked flawless (Reagan published a few photos more wedding photos on Hairdresser on fire).  Reagan was no exception. I sneaked my camera along in a tote. I didn’t want to be that guy waving around a big camera, as if the people who were being paid mad cash to shoot the thing weren’t doing a sufficient job. One of the favs that I snapped was the image above.

Saturday evening, we were chilling in the hotel room, and the light was just blasting in from the window, right before the sun set. Reagan was sitting on the bed eating some swedish fish, when I snapped this one. This ended up being one of my favorite shots from the weekend.

It was a pretty good one. As a bonus, the light was extra pretty while we were driving. Not a bad way to start out the week.

Wednesday night was kind of fun because Reagan and I were working at the ASH Footwear party in SoHo. I shoot these types of events fairly often. I have to admit that they aren’t my favorite thing to shoot. But the fact that Reagan and some of her salon friends were there, made it a lot of fun. I shot several images of Reagan working her magic.

I’m pretty excited to get the weekend started. I haven’t seen Piper for too long. I hope that she remembers me, hehe. I wish that it could be a little bit more of a chill weekend. Alas, it is booked to the gills. Reagan is throwing a bridal shower on Sunday. So, I will be helping her set it up on Saturday/Sunday and doing the photography. Sunday morning (fathers day) I have a race in CP. Then Sunday eve, we will be taking down the shower venue. Despite the busyness that this weekend brings, I’m glad to be able to spend some time hanging out with Reagan and PJ, again.

Man, it was good to be back and see Piper over the weekend. She was super cute and in a good mood both days. We mostly just lounged around, had some shoulder rides, watched movies and snuggled. Good times.

I’m so glad that this work week is finally coming to a close. Reagan’s family has arrived for all of the birthday festivities. Although, I think that we are going to keep it relatively low key compared to previous years. Just having family here to celebrate with, is enough of a party.

Last night I shot an installation by Brian Dettmer at a gallery in Chelsea. The dude carves up books (above) to make sculptures. Here are a few more images from the exhibit-

Happy Friday!

Where to start? We had a fun albeit brief visit from Reagan’s friend Stefanie on Friday. She flew in Thursday evening, and out again Saturday morning. Friday night we did the Korea town Karaoke thing and got back out our pad on Saturday morning, just in time for her to shower eat a snack (below) and for me (while Reagan slept) drive her to the airport. I’m not going to fault Reagan for not coming on a ride to airport, though. She was laid up all day Saturday with a head cold. Luckily she was feeling much better today. We had a great visit with Piper. It was raining pretty much all day, so we just kicked it inside and watched some movies/let her climb all over us. It was a pretty uneventful visit, and I didn’t even snap one photo. But, if you want to see some super cute shots of Piper playing outside on the playground on Friday morning, check Reagan’s page.

In other news, we have a banger of a week ahead of us. We are still trying to get ready for our little trip across the pond. We have really not done a great job of prioritizing our preparations. Reagan has been taking inventory on her collection of sunnies (top photo). I have been talking a lot about thinking about packing, etc.. It is going to be interesting to see how things play out.

Even though I insinuated that Mondays are sinister in title of this post, it is probably going to be the easiest day for me this week. I’ll probably be spending my free time on Monday trying to queue up some blog material to post while I’m off the grid in the coming weeks. I’m shooting two things Tuesday. Wednesday, I’m shooting some product early, then I’m going to try to juggle the Hugo Boss party at the Guggenheim, with an extra super dope and kinda secret event involving Pharrell taking place on the LES. Thursday night there is a gallery opening, and Reagan’s family arrives. Ok, now that I’m listing things out, Friday should be relatively mellow too. I always enjoy hanging out with Reagan’s fam. Saturday is Piper’s Birthday. Since I’m on a roll… Sunday: visit PJ/Hangout with Reagan’s fam. Monday– a sendoff for Reagan’s fam/plan a trip to Europe. Tues-visit to the dentist/pack. Wed- vacation.

So, yeah.

This has been a super busy week for me. The best part about those kinds of weeks, is that Friday tends to sneak right up on me. I shot some good stuff this week. I’m still sorting it all out, and trying to figure out what is ok to share. But in the mean time, here is an image from an apartment-turned gallery for the weekend. NYC’s Vandalog, is sponsoring a show this weekend, which is being held in an apartment on the UWS. The idea behind the show was to have street artists who are used to making large scale outdoor pieces, create smaller pieces that could be hung indoors. The piece above by Logan Hicks was one of my favs. You can read more about the show over here, if you are interested.

Anway, I’m so glad that the weekend is here. We have Karaoke on tap for tonight, followed by what will mostly likely be some quality inside time with Piper, based on the weather forecast for tomorrow and Sunday. I’m not complaining.

Thursday, I was super busy. I started off early, shooting the Fall 2011 Adidas Outdoor stuff at the Adidas showroom on Houston. Later in the day, I made my way over to the Opera Gallery to shoot the opening of Saber’s exhibit.

Even later, I went to the opening of a new Sunglasses Hut in SoHo, to say hi to my favorite Bumbys. I did’t get evaluated this time. Because, let’s face it, I’m not going to do any better than I did last time. Hehe

Then I finished off the night with a late dinner in the East Village with some friends. Friday, I woke with a respiratory infection, and could barely breathe. I basically didn’t get out of bed all day long. Luckily, I’m feeling a bit better today. So, I’m not so nervous about going to see Piper (I’ll just wear a mask). Of course this crap hits me during the most beautiful stretch of weather that we have had this year. I’m so pissed about it. I’m hoping to shake it off by Monday and get serious about running again. I hate feeling like a sickly little slacker. I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend.

Saturday, Piper and I had a nice little visit. She was a in a great mood, and played until she was all tuckered out and fell asleep on my lap. Reagan returned home late Saturday night. We woke up early Sunday and visited Piper. I suppose that I should mention, the weather was beautiful all weekend long. So, we took Piper outside. Unfortunately, we were only out there for about 10 minutes before the battery started to die on the vent. Such a bummer. So we took her back inside and plugged in the vent in one of her favorite little nooks, to mess around for a while. Reagan got most of the good pics on Sunday. Probably because Piper spent most of the time climbing around on me, hahaha.

After a while, sitting on the shoulders wasn’t cutting it. She needed to stand on my shoulders (then head).

And, there was a little dancing with Reag.

I’m so glad that spring has finally showed up in NYC. I even went for a nice run on Saturday. It was the first time all year that I have broken the 10 mile threshold. It felt pretty good, even though I ended up with a blister. I hope that everyone else had a fantastic weekend.
